Marigold Park is a cute neighbourhood park that offers more than it first meets the eye. The playground itself is on the smaller side, but the surrounding area gives the whole visit a fun, exploratory feel that kids genuinely enjoy.

The Playground

The equipment covers the bases well. There are two climbing structures at a good, safe height, connected by a rope bridge between the two, giving kids a fun way to move between them. One of the structures includes a taller slide and doubles as a larger climbing frame for older kids, while a separate toddler play structure features a double slide for the little ones. Swings for both toddlers and older children complete the setup. It’s a modest but thoughtfully arranged playground that works well for a range of ages.

The Setting

This is where Marigold Park gets interesting. A trail system surrounds the park, with several little paths to explore through a wooded area. There’s what appears to be an almost complete loop around the park, great for kids on bikes, particularly those with a bit of confidence in the saddle. It’s the kind of natural bonus that turns a simple playground visit into a little adventure.

There’s also a large concrete area suitable for basketball or soccer, and an oddly shaped field that works well for family games, a kickaround, or just lounging in the sun. A bench and a picnic bench sit in the wooded area nearby, making it a pleasant spot to settle in.
